Whole-home in-duct air purification

The award-winning REME HALO® whole home in-duct air purifier is the next generation of indoor air quality technology, and it is capable of purifying every cubic inch of air that your central air conditioning system reaches. Designed to reduce odors and air pollutants — and the sick building syndrome risks that come with them — it’s the strongest option we offer for whole-house purification.

It was invented to recreate nature’s own process of purifying air: like bringing fresh outdoor air inside without ever opening a window. And it works against all three categories of indoor air pollutant — particulates, microbial and gases.

That means fewer of the common allergy triggers that come from particulates such as pollen, mold spores, dander and dust. It has been thoroughly tested on airborne and surface bacteria and viruses, including MRSA, e-coli and Norwalk. And it takes on odors from cooking, pets, dirty socks, diaper pails and musty rooms.

High-efficiency air cleaners

The Trane CleanEffects™ Air Cleaner uses a patented technology that removes up to 99.98% of airborne particles — including particles as small as .1 micron. That makes it eight times more effective than even the best HEPA room filters, and up to 100 times more effective than a standard 1-inch filter.

Asthma & allergy friendly™ certified

It carries certification from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. With more than 60 million Americans suffering from asthma and allergies, that certification mark helps identify products that are scientifically proven to reduce exposure to asthma and allergy triggers.

Highest efficiency, lowest pressure drop

Standard air cleaners use very dense filters: they stop dust by trapping it in a slightly porous medium, and the fewer the pores, the more dust they catch. The catch is that they also stop the air from moving. You may be less comfortable, and less air ends up being cleaned. That’s called pressure drop — and it’s the trade-off a high-efficiency air cleaner is designed to avoid.

Small particles, large effects

Particles like dust, smoke and bacteria are often .3 microns or smaller. At that size, allergens get deep into your lungs, because your nose and throat don’t filter them well. An effective air cleaner reduces the presence of potential asthma and allergy triggers in the home — dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, dust mites, mildew, lint, fungus, most tobacco smoke, cooking grease, even bacteria.

Filters that fit your system

If you have a Trane furnace at home, you’ll want the matching Trane PerfectFit air filter to catch the particles floating through your home’s air. Which filter you need depends on the furnace: there are one-inch sizes as well as five-inch and accordion-style filters. These are excellent at cleaning the air while helping eliminate common household allergens like mold, dust and pollen, and reducing odors from cooking, smoking and bathrooms. If you’re unsure which size you need, the size is usually printed on the filter itself — or send us a photo and we’ll tell you.

Not sure how often to change it, or which rating suits an allergy-prone household? Our filter and allergy season guide walks through it.

Zone damper and bypass systems

Consistent temperatures are a challenge for even the best heating and cooling systems. Some rooms get more sunlight; some sit in the shade. Some are close to the furnace or air handler, and some are rarely used yet get heated and cooled to the same temperature as everywhere else.

A zoning system addresses all of that. Zoning works by directing more heated or cooled air where it’s needed and less where it isn’t. That reduces the energy spent conditioning space nobody is using, cuts the overall work the system has to do — which helps prolong its life — and gives you steadier comfort floor to floor and room to room.

Start with the ductwork

Air quality equipment works best in a clean system. If your vents are visibly dusty, the house smells musty when the system runs, or airflow is uneven room to room, start with duct and vent cleaning and let us look at products afterwards. Contact Lawrence Air Conditioning and Heating and we’ll tell you honestly which one you need first — and free second opinions are always available if you’ve been quoted elsewhere.

Breathe easier at home.
