AC Installation & Replacement

AC installation and replacement in Fort Worth and North Texas

When a system has reached the end of its life, we’ll tell you straight — and then size and install the right American Standard system for your home. Free replacement estimates, free second opinions, and financing with approved credit.

Replacing an air conditioning system is one of the larger decisions a homeowner makes, and it isn’t one we push. Lawrence Air Conditioning & Heat has been family owned and operated since 1989, and the way we’ve stayed in business that long is by telling people the truth about their equipment — repair it when repair makes sense, replace it when it doesn’t.

The estimate costs you nothing. We come out, look at the system and the home it has to cool, and give you a written replacement estimate. If another company has already told you to replace, we’re happy to give you a free second opinion before you spend the money.

When replacement beats repair

There’s no single number that decides it, but the conversation usually comes down to a few things:

  • The age of the system. Older equipment that has already had several repairs tends to keep needing them, and parts get harder to source as a system ages.
  • What the next repair costs. When a repair bill starts to look like a meaningful share of a new system, it’s worth running the numbers before you spend it rather than after.
  • The refrigerant it runs on. Older R22 systems can’t simply be converted to a newer refrigerant — the two aren’t interchangeable, so a change of refrigerant means a change of equipment.
  • How it’s performing. A system that runs constantly, can’t hold the temperature you set, or has never cooled part of the house may be fighting a problem replacement would solve.

Not sure which side of the line you’re on? Start with AC repair — most calls end there — or read when repair doesn’t make sense.

Sizing the system for your home

The most common problem we see with a replacement someone else installed is a system that was never the right size for the house. Too small and it never catches up on a hot North Texas afternoon. Too large and it cools fast, shuts off, and never runs long enough to pull humidity out of the air — so the house feels clammy even when the thermostat says it’s satisfied.

So before we quote anything, we look at the home itself: its size and layout, the ductwork the air travels through, and how the existing system has been performing. The equipment is specified to match the home in front of us — not whatever was there before. If your ductwork is part of the problem, we’ll say so; duct and vent cleaning and indoor air quality work are handled in-house, and both are easier to address while a system is being changed out than after.

Why we install American Standard

We repair and service every major brand — whatever equipment you already own, we’ll work on it. When it comes to putting in something new, American Standard is the one line we install, and we’ve trusted it for decades. Standing behind a single brand means our technicians know the equipment and the parts inside out, rather than spreading across a dozen lines and knowing none of them well.

What to expect from the process

1. The free estimate

We look at the existing system and the space it serves, and talk through what you’ve been dealing with. You get a free written replacement estimate — and a free second opinion if you’re holding a quote from someone else.

2. Choosing the system

We go over the American Standard options that fit the home and the budget. No pressure to take the biggest number on the page.

3. Sorting out payment

We offer financing with approved credit. Worth asking about before you schedule — and worth checking current offers in case something applies to your job.

4. Installation day

Our own certified technicians do the work. The old equipment comes out, the new system goes in, and we test it before we leave to confirm it’s cooling the way it should.

5. Keeping it that way

A maintenance plan puts seasonal tune-ups on a schedule so small problems get caught early, and your heating equipment gets the same attention before winter.

Questions homeowners ask

Do I have to replace the whole system, or just the outdoor unit?

That’s part of what the estimate visit is for. The indoor and outdoor equipment work as a matched pair, so the answer depends on what you have and what condition each part is in. We’ll walk you through what we find before you decide.

Can I finance a new system?

Financing is available with approved credit. See the financing page or ask us when we come out for the estimate.

You install American Standard — can you still service my current brand?

Absolutely. We repair and service every major HVAC brand, no matter whose name is on your equipment. American Standard is simply the brand we install when a system needs replacing.

Thinking about a new system? The estimate is free.
